Learning an extra language is becoming something that everyone must do, not just because it will help when you are traveling or doing business, but just the idea of learning a new language can open up the mind to a host of new endeavors. We sometimes tend to get stuck in who we are, what we are and where we are going, but just by learning a new language, you can really shake things up and create a whole new meaning to your life.

English is the universally accepted business language and has become a necessity to be able to conduct business. There are however lots of opportunities in Europe and its a really good idea to learn courses in French, which will be very useful at a later time, for both business and social purposes. Saint George International is one of the most prominent institutes that offers language courses. They have a number of offices, so you can learn french in Leeds if you want to or in whatever location suits you best. Language courses are taught by native speakers of the language and can be taken in their central location in London or at your home, office or school, whichever suits you.

You’ve got to love this new product that the Japanese have come up with. It is now possible to create hot rice with cold water. Sounds crazy, right? But it’s true. Trendhunder reports that this new product called Hotto Raisu, will be a great item for emergency rations and works simply by pouring cold water on rice. The cost is high at 10,000 yen for 30 packs, but its developers are keen to work on new ideas and uses for this product.

By subjecting rice to 4,000 times normal atmospheric pressure, the developers were able to preserve rice for long periods in a soft form that holds moisture. When water is poured over an exothermic agent in the pack, steam warms the rice contained within, and after about 15 minutes, the dish is piping hot.

Wadhawan Foods announced that it would be using its non-store format Sangam Direct to test the market before it opens regular retail stores under the Spinach brand. The company will also be adding wet groceries like frozen foods, fruits and vegetables to its products offerings at Sangam Direct. The call centers for Sangam Direct will now be forward calls to the closest Spinach stores instead of warehouses to fulfill home delivery orders.

Golf is one of those games that no amount of improvement is enough, the need to practice is always there and one is never satisfied with one’s golf equipment. I’ve had a Titleist golf set for the past 5 years and I’m thinking of getting a new set to jazz up my game a bit. I’m tilting towards one of the clone golf sets that are said to be just as good as the branded ones, but without the name and the price tag. Some of the best clone golf clubs are made from the same materials and are the same design as the big names, so will work just as good as them. I would probably start off with a wedge, as that is my hardest part of my game, so if it shows an improvement there, then I know the other clubs will help me as well.

Education 7:56 am

I’ve never done an online course, but am seriously thinking of trying it out as I’m hearing of lots of good things about the way that teaching is done in this format. I assumed that it would be boring and hard to be motivated about the work and even not really feeling connected to it, but with some of the newer systems of eLearning, it seems that it can actually be even more interactive than some classroom settings. One of the newest trends in online educations is teaching programs for educators, so they can update and increase their knowledge, add certification requirements and shift from instructional to administrative functions. These online teaching degrees can work as catalysts to change the way modern education is handled, as being more proactive and creative.

Without these online learning courses, it would not even be possible for the majority of educators to increase their knowledge and get a degree. Since the trend for online education is increasing, it only makes sense for educators to get additional degrees and understand and experience online education from a student’s perspective.

The emphasis on interactive learning programs has really changed the way people get an education today. There was a time that one just sat in class and took notes which was almost quite a static way of learning, but education today involves a lot more of communication and interaction. It’s partly to do with the education tools available and partly to do with the type of courses that are being offered. Collins College, which is located in the Phoenix metro area, is one such place that relies on a lot of modern techniques of teaching. Contact Collins College for specific details on courses and educational tools used in your field.

Learning methods have changed a lot even from when I was in college and the focus on creative ways of teaching combined with a host of new educational fields has worked to attract a lot of students who might not have traditionally sought a college education. Specialization has achieved new heights these days as opposed to earning a liberal arts degree that covered a lot of fields in general but none in specific.

Universities and corporations have formed an interesting alliance in terms of branding. Agenda reports that while college campuses usually relied on alumni for endowments and donations and rewarded them with naming buildings or positions after them, but now it’s the turn of corporations who are using this method as well. So there is a William Russell Kelly Professor of Business Administration positition at the University of Michigan named after alumni and founder of Kelly Services, an AT&T Professor of Computer Science at University of Virginia, a FedEx Professor of Excellence at the University of Memphis and so on. The trend for corporate support for professors started in the 1990s, when state legislatures cut funds to state universities, leading to universities to look for funding from the corporate world.

In order to make professorships more attractive, both public and private universities use these brand-endowed chairs to "sweeten the pot" to recruit the best and brightest academics. For some, the donor’s money gives the professor extra money for research, travel and personal bonuses. For others, the donor’s dollars are the professor’s salary. What exactly is included in these branded positions varies greatly depending on the deal between the corporate donor and the university.
