Tesco criticizes retail “frenzy” for India
Tesco strongly criticized the manner in which international retailers were causing a retail frenzy about entering the Indian retail market. The remarks were made at the Reuters Consumer and Retail Summit. Tesco also said that they would be interested in entering the market only when the rules of ownership had been changed. While European retailers are still very excited about growth prospects in the Indian market, it is the legal and operational hassles that are making many hold back.
We’re looking forward to our moving to a new city and a new country next month as well as the major shopping it will entail. We’ll be buying an entire house of new furniture, electronics and household products once we’re there. One of the apartments’s we have seen so far is on the ground floor and has a delightful little entrance courtyard, with it’s own private walled garden. We’re quite keen on this place and if we get it, I’m going to really enjoy decorating it with a nice soothing water feature, some small pieces of sculptures and lighting that highlights all their features. I even found a really nice outdoor wall sconce from Minka lighting that fits over the house number so it can be easily read at night. It gives a lovely Mediterranean feel and I would just need to add some blue and white tiles to continue the theme.
