Apartments and homes are what are on our minds these days, along with floor plans, furniture options and the like. In essence, it’s all about real estate and until we finalize on our new home, that’s all we’re going to be thinking it seems. I’m quite looking forward to setting up a new home, in a new country and am excited about the variety of options we will have in decors and the overall look of our new home. I definitely want a modern and contemporary look in this new home, a clean and spare look that I’m looking forward to finding and buying.

We’ve been reminiscing a lot about our vacation last year, remembering that we were in Providence for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, enjoying the fireworks display and musical performance and all in all having a great time. Next time we’re thinking of doing something completely different, like taking a Orlando vacation home rental and exploring the local area with great gusto. As much as I love to travel, I simply adore the planning and anticipation as well.

I’ve been watching my stats lately and been noticing a lot of new referrals coming in, besides the regular yahoo, google, msn and aol search engine results. I’ve always found it rather interesting to see how people find my blog and how I could improve things, by making it easier to find it or to fine tune it so that the right traffic comes to my site and stays for longer periods of time. So far, I’ve not added any outside traffic counter and have only been using the one that comes with Wordpress, but now I’m thinking it’s time to add a second stat counter as well.

We’re in the process for looking for a new apartment and even though we’re only looking for a rental property at this time, it’s hard enough to find just one what one wants. The New York City area, along with the Hamptons, Long Island and Manhattan are some of the most sought after property destinations in the country and consequently one of the most competitive. I’ve been using Flickr kind of seriously only for the past month and am quite addicted to it already. I have so far uploaded 50 pictures and have got some nice comments of several of them. I quite like getting feedback on pictures that I have taken, an aspect that I had not even considered earlier, but am rather thrilled with now. After using Yahoo Photo’s for quite some time, I was hesitant to switch, having gotten used to the system, but Flickr is in fact much simpler and quicker to upload, tag etc.

RPG Retail is likely to be in the capital market this year itself. According to chairman Harsh Goenka, the company is planning an IPO within the next twelve months. The company hopes to reach a turnover of Rs 1,300 crore in the 2008 financial year, though its network of brands such as Spencer’s Music World, Books and Beyond, RPG Cellcom and Health and Glow.

The way we see TV has completely changed and it’s all for the better, in my opinion. According to a study by BIGresearch, it was found that of all consumers, women are the least confident of the economy in the next six months and are the major decision makers when it comes to shopping trips, which are being reduced due to higher gas prices. Spending overall is being reduced over the next three months. Consumers are also expecting gas prices to increase by July 4th. Another finding of the research was the only 39.9% of the respondents felt that the stock market accurately reflected the strength of the economy.
