As an avid art collector I just cannot resist looking for new art, no matter where I go. It’s become sort of an addiction, as I like to have at least one piece of art from each city or country we visit. I don’t buy paintings each time, sometimes I select a sculpture or a installation piece, but I like to chronicles our travels through art. Our trip to the north-east coast of the US, yielded just a few items, but I would have loved to visit the Park West Gallery which is famous for promoting some of the most promising artists. Besides its gallery in Southfield, MI, there is also another gallery called the Park West at Sea, which is a cruise ship that travels the world conducting art auctions for art lovers across the world. I find that to be really quite amazing and think that it would be incredible to visit the Park West at Sea on its travels, so I could not only get some great art, but also have a great story to tell about it.

Gap Inc. announced that it had hired well known fashion and interior designer Todd Oldham to be Old Navy’s new creative director from October 1, 2007. Todd Oldham will create a new line of merchandise that will be sold only at Old Navy. Old Navy has not been faring very well in the past few years, and Gap is working on a strategy to change things around for the brand. Old Navy has been known for low cost fashion for the young, which started with a bang in the mid 1990s but petered out in the past few years due to lack of creative designing.

I’ve been noticing that a number of cars have Britax car seats in the apartment complex where we live. I had heard of them being one of the best brands, but didn’t realize just how popular they were. Car seats have always been a hot topic of discussion amongst parents, and a lot of my friends have very vocal opinions about them. The general consensus being that Britax as a brand is one of the most reliable and safe.

Buying a car seat is so much more than just the physical safety of a child, it is an emotional purchase as well and having a car seat that is known to be one of the best in the market is definitely one of the major influencing factors on the purchasing decision. Marketers grasp that quite easily, but a lot of manufacturers don’t see the point of emphasizing the emotional factor or building ‘the brand’ to increase sales exponentially.

Just when you think that everything is going fine, you get tossed a spinner and have to figure everything out all over again. My paperwork and visa process has been going on for a while and I was hoping I would make some headway, but it looks like everything has been delayed again. So it looks like I will have to juggle everything and rework how to get things done all over again. I can’t wait for it all to be done with, the endless paperwork and waiting is just driving me crazy. There is no standardized format of application or even a checklist, so you don’t know if you have something wrong until the very last minute when you try to submit it. Do hope it will be sorted out soon.

There are lots of ways to make your website popular and accessible, and one of the newest things that I read about is about making static copies of dynamic pages, since not all search engine checks both dynamic as well as static pages for new information. Using this new seo software process, it will be possible to get more traffic from search engines, so your site must have the right keywords to attract the right traffic. Along with traffic, rankings will also improve for the top keywords for your site.

Search engine marketing has been big with marketers for a while now, but with everyone using the same techniques, it is important to do something different to be noticed and using static pages is certainly one of them. For the past two years, search engine optimization have been some of the most searched tricks on the internet, and for many companies they have yielded good results, but now the time has come to fine tune the process further.

Where at one time supermarkets were located only in the suburbs, now they are setting up in the city as well and are generally being received well by consumers. Growth opportunities are increasing rapidly in the urban areas and stores are moving into revived downtowns and opening smaller stores that fit in well with the needs of the urban shopper. In Des Moines, Iowa, there is a marked change and increase in smaller stores in urban areas. Hy-Vee Inc. recently announced its plans to build a store in a Des Moines suburb and Dahl’s Foods is also making plans to expand and renovate its store located in a busy residential and commercial area.

Building grocery stores in established urban neighborhoods has unique challenges, said Bill Greer, director of communications for the Food Marketing Institute in Arlington, Va. “While there are excellent growth opportunities in urban areas, there are different challenges than building in the suburbs,” he said. Grocers need to find land large enough for a store and parking, and work through zoning approvals, transportation routes for service trucks and traffic routes, Greer said. “And sometimes they run into resistance from neighbors,” he said.
