Well, not so good news with K-State losing 29-45 to Fresno State yesterday. A bit of a shocker really, from being one of the top team in the Big 12 to this. Quite sad, I must say. With this loss, the season record dips to 5-7. There’s a lot of pressure on the new coach Ron Prince, who is in the second year of his coaching assignment at K-State. Quite a change from when Coach Bill Snyder took charge and really changed the way the team performed. Do hope to get back to those days.

The one thing that I really miss from my college days is being able to watch college football. In fact, I miss all of the NCAA Tournament games. My college Kansas State University is playing the Fresno State Bulldogs tomorrow and I’m quite keen to watch the game and see how we do against them. We’ve been playing pretty well, but not as well as we used to do with our earlier coach Bill Snyder. This is the second season for the new coach Ron Prince, and it’s a pretty tough line up we’ve gotten so things are not going to be easy and straightforward.

Well, we really are just going to spend this weekend at home watching movies, and basically relaxing. Friday is also the day when I get my cleaning help in, so have to stay at home to get the thorough cleaning done. We got some new movies to watch, including Amadeus, Chak de, Any given Sunday and a few more. I have watched all of them before, but liked them enough to want to buy the DVDs and see them again, but then that’s what lazy weekends are all about anyway. There are also some nice movies coming on our cable pay-per-view system, that one can get pretty cheaply if one wants to see some new movies. So, that’s our plan for the weekend…

After such a hectic week like this one, all I really want for the weekend is some home theater popcorn machines and I’ll be set for a nice relaxing time. Even though I don’t work full time, some weeks things get so hectic that I seem to be working way too many hours. Before I started working online, I used to enjoy reading in my spare time, but now after such a long work week, I’d rather just chill with a nice movie, some chips and popcorn. Unfortunately, my reading has really drastically reduced and I’m barely reading 2-3 books a year, down from at least 2-3 books a month.

Nike and Foot Locker opened their first House of Hoops store in New York city’s Harlem neighborhood. The basketball focused store is the first tie up for the companies for a retail project. The House of Hoops store will sell Nike, Jordan and Converse products. A chain of 50 stores is planned for the US and is to be set up in the next three years in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas and many more. Besides these stores, Nike will also open around 100 of its own stores across the US in the next three years as well.

The House of Hoops stores have been build to cater to basketball players and will stock the best of products in footwear and apparel. The stores will also have VIP Lounges in the stores, where shoppers can read magazines and watch TV. For Foot Locker, it is a great opportunity as the chain has been struggling in its mall business, due to lower traffic as well as changing tastes of consumers.
