I’ve always liked to have a nice desk to work on, but ever since I started working from home, I have begun to pay special attention to my work space. I think I got this craze from my maternal grandfather, who was in government service and loved having lots of pens of different kind for different kinds of notations and signatures. So there are a variety of pens on my desk, everything from marketing pens that I have received from various companies to my special fountain pens that get a special place on my desk, in remembrance to all those days in school when we used to use only fountain ink pens. I like the look of them and they give a touch of elegance to my desk.
Check out my photographs on Flickr! I’ve been spending a lot of time lately putting up pictures, browsing through other’s photographs and generally getting inspired to take better photographs. Some people make it look so easy, but when I try to take a similar picture, it comes out looking oh so amateurish that it’s laughable. So, I really need to learn tips on how to take better pictures, but stick to my own settings and views so that I am able to grow in my own direction.
Here’s a picture from my photostream that has been getting some appreciation.
When it comes to high tech inventions, the last century was an extremely prolific one. Our entire world has changed thanks to the way things are done now, and it’s all because of technology, inventions and thinking out of the box. Take plasma cutting for instance, which has really changed the way the business function now. Doing the same job earlier on, would take so much longer but with this technology, it has become streamlined and efficient. There really is quite a bit to be said for those who thought of these new ways of doing things. Our world would be a lot different if it weren’t for them.
Orissa govt puts Reliance Retail on watchlist
Reliance Fresh might just be having the same problem in the state of Orissa as it did earlier in Uttar Pradesh. The Orissa state government reportedly has assured an India FDI Watch delegation that it will be scrutinizing the permission that was given earlier to Reliance Fresh so that it could open outlets in the state. Dharmendra Kumar, Director of India FDI Watch, says “We have been assured by a senior state government official that all possible steps would be taken for the rehabilitation of roadside vendors. The permission given to Reliance Fresh for opening outlets would also be scrutinized.” India FDI Watch is composed of small traders that have been opposing large retail players from entering the market.
