I find it extremely interesting how the Internet has changed the way we shop and decide on purchases. At one time, one had to go into a store and take a person’s opinion, but now one can do all one’s research from the comfort of one’s own home. So if you’re thinking about getting an eca stack, all you have to do is find some sources online and get feedback from those who have tried them already, compare prices and shipping rates and you’re all set. I love to shop online, why bother going to a store when it’s so much more convenient buying it online. It will be great to see how the Internet changes the way we live in the future as well.
A photo from our recent trip to the hills. As much as I was looking forward to visiting the hills for their beauty and my memories, I was also really looking forward to being able to take pictures there. Since it hadn’t rained, it wasn’t the best of views, but nothing can dim the beauty of the hills it seems. This photo below was taken in the morning, when the light is wonderfully fresh, but not too bright. I love the way the shadows and bare branches look and of course the framing with the pillars on both sides.
Is it time to start thinking about insurance?
What really is the right time and age to start thinking about long term finances, such as investments, retirement, insurance and the such? There is a lot of information out there available about term insurance that was really hard to find even a few years earlier. Now it seems that there is so much information about it out there, on the internet, in the magazines, in the general media that the average consumer will have no problem finding out all the details about it as they need to know. It all comes down to finding what is right for you and how it will affect your personal life, and there is no better place to start searching than the Internet. It is the one place where you can get all the details, pros and cons, consumer perspectives and so on, before deciding what will work best for you.
So am back from my trip to the hills and nearby there, back to the heat of the plains, which are already bypassing spring and heading straight towards summer, and a hot one at that. It’s hard to believe that I was gone for close to three weeks, but it still doesn’t seem long enough…it never does, does it, when one goes home. One always wants to be there for just a bit longer, do a little bit more, relish each moment a bit longer, savor each bit of the vacation so that one can bring up the memory of it for future times with ease, as if it were just yesterday. Well, I do hope Ihave managed to do all that and more on this trip. Only time will tell.
Now that winter is over, one need not feel cooped up when it comes to getting some exercise and fresh air. For some people it does not matter at all, and they can carry on exercising on treadmills, but I have never got used to working out seriously indoors, especially when the whether is nice enough to work out in the fresh air. It all comes down to what you are used to, and since I grew up in the mountains, where we used to get a lot of exercise, that’s still my perfect kind of workout. This past weekend when we went up to the hills, we walked about 7-8 kms the first day and about 4 the next. There really is nothing quite like walking in the hills, it becomes effortless after a while, especially when one is enjoying the lovely views.
Last week we took a short trip to the hills. It was a very short trip, just one night away, but it was that or nothing, and so we took it. As usual, it was lovely to be back in the mountains, although there was a lot of haze since it hasn’t rained for quite some time. I still did manage to get some nice pictures of the hills, pine trees, and so on. Here is one of them. I took this from a moving vehicle, but it came out quite nice, I like the way the trees are on one side of the picture.
With the way businesses run these days, it is becoming absolutely essential to use a self assessment tool to evaluate how successful employees operate and motivate their teams. At one time, tools such as these were looked upon as extra things, gimmicky things, but now are completely mainstream and can make quite a bit of difference in the ultimate performance of a business. A lot of small businesses used to avoid using such options, but now almost every start up will opt for professional advice from performance analysis companies. It is a good trend, since it is the initial workings of a company that ultimately define how successful it will be.
I hate the sinking feeling one gets in the stomach when the vacation comes to an end. It’s no fun to even think of going back to normal day to day life after taking it easy and relaxing for some time…no vacation goes on forever after all, but it’s nice to dream that they do though. It’s the same sinking feeling that one got as kids when we were on our way back to school after our vacations…ooh, I really do hate that butterflies in the stomach kind of feeling. I used to hate the monday morning feeling too, till I started working from home and didn’t have to go out to work anymore, and especially since sunday is the start of the work week in Dubai instead of monday, so there, no more monday morning blues!
Life has become so much simpler now, especially since you can do almost everything on the Internet, whether it is search for some online auto insurance quotes or find a car. For some this has made things simpler, while for others it has made it more complicated, since it means that you have to keep up with the technology that keeps changing to be able to find this information. I try to keep up with most things technology related, but on the whole I am quite satisfied with the way the Internet has changed our lives. For those who are behind the curve, it might be harder, but the usefulness of the internet means that most people do eventually learn enough to find information themselves.
Been getting a lot of work done on my computer, basically getting it souped up for the next year or so. The last time I gave it for servicing, I really didn’t have enough time to get all its little kinks sorted out, but this time it looks like everything is going to be fixed. All it needs is a new battery, which has been ordered and should be arriving anytime now. I’ve also got some extras added to it, to take care of future upgrades and so on. The life of a laptop is getting shorter year by year, but IBM laptops or rather Lenovo laptops are really good and offer great value for money.
