The world around us

In a post earlier today, I wrote about how much fun it has been to start noticing and taking photographs of the little things around me, and I wanted to share a shot that I took last month and posted a few days back on flickr. It was just a regular day, a nice day, but by taking that shot I did manage to make it more memorable, which is something that we should all do. Lives are not meant just for the run around, for making money, they are also meant for the little joys, and this was one of them.

Summer vacation time is a great time to go to places like Vegas, but I personally feel that they’re even better at other times. In fact any time is good for Vegas vacations, isn’t it? We personally try to go to places that are not going through their peak rush times, since that really is the fastest way to spoil a vacation. Vegas however doesn’t fit that criteria, as the more people there are in the city, the better and more lively it seems. It really does pay to plan ones vacations in such a manner, since we all generally take one big vacation a year along with a few short breaks, so why mess it up right?

Taking pictures is a great way to keep memories, I feel. It’s great to be able to just see a photo and remember all the things associated with it. At one time, we only used to take photos of each other, the family and so on, but lately I barely take any of these photos and instead spend most of my time photographing the things around us, whether we’re on a trip to a beautiful place or just a nice moment with a cup of coffee at home. It’s the little moments that all add up to make a wonderful life.

My next door neighbor has been doing a huge re-hauling and is changing lots of things around, especially in the bath and the kitchen. These two rooms are the ones with the most investment and the most time, during the construction and later on, so it only makes sense to put the best sinks and toilets that you can afford, right? I think so too! While the initial budget always seems way overboard, these areas of the house are almost always worth the amount they cost. My neighbor’s work is going to take another couple of weeks, most of which I am going to be away, so it suits just fine.

Almost time for us to take a bit of a break. And we’re oh so ready fro it. The summer here has been brutally hot and I’ve been feeling really claustrophobic lately since we’ve had to stay indoors most of the days. I’ve been trying to go regularly for my early morning walks, but most days it has been just too muggy even at 530 in the morning, which I find to be really quite suffocating and sad. This time our trip will have a bit of everything, family gettogethers, parties, weekend trips out of town and so on. Just a week to to.

Summer and the change of seasons always seems to bring out all the acne problems. The solutions are getting much better though, and if you have acne, then it’s relatively easy to fix. The hard part is finding the right treatment, one that removes the acne but doesn’t do too much harm to your skin. Creating a more disciplined and healthy lifestyle is also one way to make these problems go away, but of course that takes much longer. So, be balanced about it and don’t go overboard about it, since you’ll just end up harming your skin in the end.
