…of Mussoorie.

Most of my shots of my trip to Mussoorie have been showing only the beauty of the town and the hills around. As with a lot of towns in India, haphazard growth is everywhere, sometimes overtaking the beauty and simpleness of the surroundings.

This is the reality….there are lots of wires crisscrossing, most of them illegal but so prevalent that they become part of the landscape, the old houses are beautiful but falling apart, the new houses are strong but ugly concrete structures and so on.

So, it’s really up to us to find the beauty where ever we can. One has to look beyond the obvious, and not get sidetracked by things like the huge dumpster that welcomes you to the town, or the discarded plastic bags in the gutters, in essence ignore the ugliness and notice only the beauty that could be.

Apart from being a bit lost about high tech computer stuff, I also am not the best person to ask about automobile parts. Talk to me about something like a turbocharger, and my eyes will probably glaze over. I sometimes face such problems in writing assignments, but the good thing is that now information is so easy to find, and with a little bit of effort, one can learn all the basics required about what ever it is that one is looking for. Talking about reminds me of an old college friend who loved cars with a passion, For Mustangs to be precise. She got one as a graduation present and from then on, all her talk revolved around cars, auto accessories and so on.

When it comes to all things concerned with software, hardware and computer issues, I do not hesitate to contact someone who is well versed in the subject. I mean, I am tech savvy, but when it comes to issues such as complex issues and used cisco, then it’s best left to the experts. A lot of people have a problem doing just that, in the sense that they want to be experts in everything that they do, but it usually never works out too well. Do what you’re really good at doing, and leave the rest of it to the ones who are actually good at it.

Picnics have been a family tradition for quite some time, a tradition that I absolutely love. A holiday or summer vacation is not complete unless we have a couple of picnics, hopefully one by a stream or two, where maybe we can make a tiny dam, have twig races and chill our beer. Luckily, our past vacation, we managed to have three picnics, each one quite different from the other and each oh so enjoyable.

Here’s a shot of one of them.

My ongoing research about weight loss plans and diet pills is keeping me very busy indeed. While I have got some really great insight into how these work and what the entire experience is like, I am still looking for some information on Relacore, so if you or someone you know has tried it, do let me know as I would love to hear about your experience with it. While the mainstream media often portrays diet pills in a negative light, for a lot of people they are what is recommended by the doctors. It really is important to meet your physician and get a full health check up before going on any kind of weight loss plan, as this will help you understand how your body better.

Taking photos while I’m traveling has become quite a major priority for me. I never used to take pictures just of the sights, it was always of us with the sights, but now I find that its a great way to maintain one’s memory of the trip for years to come, without being embarrassed about how one looked way back then! That’s a good enough reason, right! I took this shot below on my trip to Mussoorie in September.

Enjoy!

Most people in Dubai are extremely fashion and beauty conscious. They take to all the latest trends in slimming, beauty and so on as quickly as the women of NYC. One of the trends that has been becoming very popular is the Orovo detox, which everyone seems to be raving about. I must confess, that I have not tried it out myself, and I’m not likely to either, but I am quite intrigued about it and would love to talk to someone who has done it recently, if only for the sake of understanding it better and writing an article about it.

Dubai has become known for its large scale of doing everything. If a mall has to be built, it has to be the largest in the world. Things seem incongruous at first, things like a ski slope in the mall in a desert, but after a while one comes to expect such audacity from local architecture. The new Dubai Mall, which opened last week has an Olympic size skating rink, the largest single plate aquarium in the world and a three zone Discovery Center, complete with penguins, sharks and so on. I’m yet to go see the mall…hopefully this weekend….and I hope it lives up to its hype. With over 1200 stores in the amll, not all are even open as yet, so that will be a little time in coming.

It seems that the debate around the diet pill is always going to continue, as people look for simpler ways to combat weight gain. As our society has changed, so has our diet, which has undergone a very drastic change in the past couple of decades. The result is that most people are not able to lose weight the old fashioned way, just by exercising and controlling their diet. There has to be medication involved or sometimes even surgery to get people to a healthy weight and shape. Hopefully, those who undergo such treatments are able to control their weight in the future, since it can have a lot of adverse affects. Losing weight by using diet pills is a mush simpler alternative, but it is medication and must be followed very carefully and only after consultation of a medical practitioner.

I love noticing the simplicity of things. It’s funny how I never used to notice them before, but the act of taking a photograph of it, keeps it in your mind forever and one is able to relive it, to delve into it and to really absorb it in its entirety. I love the quietness of the moment, when one just notices and lives in that moment alone…not thinking or worrying about anything else. It’s funny how and why I’ve become so philosophical about taking and viewing photos, but it’s a wonderful feeling nevertheless.
