So, it seems that this is the last post I make here for a few days, until I get set up again in my new home. My internet connection is to disconnected today and I will be back again posting in a few days, either from my new home or from an internet cafe or wi-fi zone. Hope to be back soon.
I downloaded the new updates to Firefox this morning and really like some of the additions, like the automatic spell check, which is really coming handy here since I don’t have a plugin for this blog. I know lots are available, but never got around to downloading one. What I don’t like about the update is that now you can only see a certain number of tabs in one screen, rather than earlier where all the tabs would just squish together to be seen all at once. I found that really handy and this way takes me longer to go back and forth between my first tab and my last. There is a drop down list and I think I need to get used to using that instead, which will be faster and more efficient.
The problem with having several blogs is that one has to ruthlessly segment what one writes where. I will be using this blog to write on retail and consumerism and reducing it from my main blog of travels and travails, which I want to return to its main focus of travel which is what I started it as. Over time, I started writing more about retail, business, marketing and other stuff on it, simply because it was my only blog. Now that I have begun to segment my blogs, I will be writing on business, retail, consumerism, retail trends, sales and marketing and other related topics here.
I’ve been using Technorati for quite some time now and really like the way I am able to use its resources to improve my standing in the world of blogs. Here’s my Technorati Profile.
I’m Shel, a retail analyst and researcher who has been involved in the retail industry since 1994, in retail operations, merchandising, quality control, and HR. The retail industry has changed a lot in the past ten years and will continue to change and this dynamism makes being part of it especially interesting. I have a BSc. degree in Clothing and Textiles from Kansas State University and have worked with some of the top retailers of the world. I enjoy blogging, collecting art, reading and traveling in my spare time.
